I was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas and after college at Arkansas State University, I was a farmer (4th generation on the family farm) raising mostly rice and soybeans. In 1983, I moved to Perryville, Kentucky, where I served as pastor of the Christian Church while I attended seminary at Lexington Theological Seminary. After graduation in 1987, I became pastor at First Christian Church in Berea, Kentucky. Since then I have done several things including working for the Madison County (KY) Health Department, Habitat for Humanity of Madison County, and our community action agency, Foothills Community Action Partnership. Currently, I am director of the Richmond (KY) Senior Citizens Center.
My son, Russell (and wife Lisa) are Peace Corps Volunteers in Tanzania, in East Africa. My daughter, Catherine, is a senior at College of Wooster in Ohio.
