David's big adventure!

I will be traveling to Tanzania September 16th to visit Russ and Lisa who are Peace Corps Volunteers there. I will be returning on September 26th! Maybe some photos of my African adventure will turn up on the photo gallery at Lisa's blog. I'll post one or two here when I return.

My cell phone will be off while I am away.

House sitting

I have been house-sitting in rural Madison County since late June. It is about 17 miles out from Richmond. The house is a half-mile from the gate on a farm of about 100 acres. There is no livestock to care for except for a dog, Millie, and a cat, Bones, pictured above.

The gravel driveway to the house crosses a dam that separates two small ponds. Note the birdfeeders at the lower pond pictured above. The birdwatching and stargazing are great. It is a nice retreat at a good time in my life.
