Day 7, August 9
Woke up to fog this morning in the air outside and in our
minds. We were between a CT Scan and a
“call me in the morning.” We managed
coffee and prayer together then made the call.
Diverticulitis! Sounds better
than gall bladder surgery. We need to
pick up another med in Guyton and see the doctor Monday morning, and Google
diverticulitis. Both fogs have lifted.
I read Social Media
Guide for Ministry and found much more than I expected. Using social media is not just posting signs
about events. It is beginning
conversations. Conversations lead to
relationships and relationships are what a faith community is all about. Jesus said, “Go,” and, “Tell.” What better way than the information
superhighway?
Made another trip to Guyton to pick up Kay’s additional
antibiotic. Picked up mail and a few
others things from the house while there.
The last two evenings with
DB
have been about possessions. He points
out that worrying is directed toward tomorrow.
We worry about having enough stuff to make us worry-free. But the treasures we covet produce more
worries. So securing things for tomorrow
makes us insecure today. Sit down in the
grass at the foot of the mountain and listen to Jesus. “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will bring worries of its own. Today’s
trouble is enough for today.
I am tired. It is dark enough to go to bed and to put
tomorrow completely into God’s hand.
